| ARE YOU STARING... AT LIFE CHANGING SALES AND MARKETING STRATEGIES YOU CAN'T SEE? Where do you find the breakaway marketing and sales strategies that produce true life changing - eat my dust - results? 3 experiences reveal where you can find them. Well one hit me Sunday morning, 6:30 AM, on the balcony soaking up coffee, sun and the harbor view with a 6 inch binder in my lap. I have been reading one of those 42 CD multiple binder info packs on a topic I have been studying for years. It hit me that the value of the materials, which cost $1,500, was not found in the written or spoken word, but seeing the samples and examples of how the author had grown his business exponentially, what he did to start, what he did to grow, how he structured and organized things, what he did not do. The written and spoken word was nothing new - but getting a better grasp big picture of the driving principles and actual action steps, sales steps, offers, product mix, price points, etc. - which this author did not discuss directly - is proving invaluable. 2. New coaching client asks me to send him 50 articles I had written last Wednesday. Thursday he calls to tell me that he had picked up on a copywriting strategy in my articles and was already re-writing his materials. NOTE: This key strategy was neither in the articles or discussed with the coaching client. 3. Many many years ago I cut my marketing teeth helping professional service providers... lawyers, accountants and other vermin... get more clients. They would howl loud and adamantly "We are different" when it came to marketing. Ya right!!! Where did I get all the great ideas to build their practices? By studying what highly successful plumbers, chiros, electricians and others did to build their client businesses. Why would someone who wants to crush their competition with marketing, insist on doing what everyone else is doing in their industry? What's my point? That life changing marketing and sales strategies come from understanding big picture how businesses grow from small to big, big to bigger, thin profits to printing money.... From detecting key strategies used by other successful marketers... from keeping an open mind and learning from successful business growth strategies used outside our industry. That's how you breakaway from the pack. So if your focus is still... Should I send out a postcard? Should I rewrite my elevator speech? (No! just shoot yourself.) Should I use Google adwords? The truth? You don't get it. It's not about picking the right tools. The tools just assist in implementing the right strategies for the time.
